Section 2. Horizontal Marking Article 24.
General Provisions
(1) Horizontal marking - lines, arrows, inscriptions, or images applied to the road surface.
(2) Other inscriptions and images (for example, images of road signs) that help to navigate in traffic but do not establish additional restrictions may be applied to the road surface, in addition to those considered in this regulation.
(3) Horizontal marking is white, except for:
1) temporary (during road works) elements and elements prohibiting stopping and parking, which are yellow;
2) marking elements indicating the boundaries of parking spaces where parking is paid or other parking restrictions are introduced, as well as marking indicating the boundary of a parking zone, which are blue;
3) marking elements indicating the boundaries of speed restriction zones and the boundary of a yard territory, which are red;
(4) Graphic images of horizontal marking elements are provided in Annex 9 to the regulation;
(5) Elements of horizontal marking are provided in the figures in Annex 10 to the regulation.
Image Description
Marking Element 911 "Single Solid Line" 1) divides traffic flows in opposite directions on hazardous road sections with two lanes. Crossing the line is prohibited;
Marking Element 911 "Single Solid Line" 2) divides traffic lanes on the side of the oncoming traffic. Crossing the line is prohibited;
Marking Element 911 "Single Solid Line" 3) restricts sections of the roadway that are prohibited to cross, for example, guiding islands;
Marking Element 911 "Single Solid Line" 4) indicates parking spaces. Crossing the line is allowed during maneuvering. The line applied to the end of the parking space may also be crossed when entering and exiting the space;
Marking Element 911 "Single Solid Line" 5) indicates the edge of the roadway. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides;
Marking Element 911 "Single Solid Line" 6) divides bicycle and pedestrian traffic on bicycle and pedestrian paths. Crossing the line is prohibited.
Marking Element 911a "Comb Line" indicates the edge of the roadway. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 912 "Wide Solid Line" has the following meanings:
Marking Element 912 "Wide Solid Line" 1) indicates the edge of the roadway. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides;
Marking Element 912 "Wide Solid Line" 2) separates acceleration and deceleration lanes from the main lanes of the roadway. Crossing the line is prohibited;
Marking Element 912 "Wide Solid Line" 3) separates special purpose lanes (bicycle lane, lane for general-purpose vehicles, lane for general-purpose vehicles and bicycles) from other lanes of the roadway. Crossing the line is prohibited.
Marking Element 913 "Double Solid Line" has the following meanings:
Marking Element 913 "Double Solid Line" 1) divides traffic flows in opposite directions on roads with three or more lanes. Crossing the line is prohibited;
Marking Element 913 "Double Solid Line" 2) indicates the outer boundary of the farthest parking space. Crossing the line is only allowed during maneuvering.
Marking Element 914 "Combination of Solid and Broken Lines" has the following meanings:
Marking Element 914 "Combination of Solid and Broken Lines" 1) divides traffic flows in opposite directions on roads with two lanes;
Marking Element 914 "Combination of Solid and Broken Lines" 2) divides traffic lanes on the side of the oncoming traffic;
Marking Element 914 "Combination of Solid and Broken Lines" 3) indicates a break in the solid line separating traffic flows in opposite directions, where crossing this line is only allowed from one side, as well as entry and exit points only in one direction. Crossing Marking Element 914 is allowed from the broken line side. From the solid line side, this is only allowed when completing overtaking or passing an obstacle.
Marking Elements 915, 916, and 917 "Directional Island" indicate restricted road sections and indicate the direction of travel with their inclined lines as follows: 1) Element 915 separates traffic flows in opposite directions;
2) Element 916 separates traffic lanes on the side of the oncoming traffic;
3) Element 917 combines lanes on the side of the oncoming traffic. The boundaries of marking elements 915, 916, and 917 are indicated by marking elements 911 "Single Solid Line", 911 "a" "Comb Line", or 912 "Wide Solid Line". Crossing is prohibited.
Marking Element 921 "Intermittent Line with Short Dashes", the length of gaps between dashes of which is three times greater than the length of the dashes:
Marking Element 921 "Intermittent Line with Short Dashes" 1) divides traffic flows in opposite directions on roads with two lanes, on bicycle paths, and on bicycle and pedestrian paths;
Marking Element 921 "Intermittent Line with Short Dashes" 2) separates traffic lanes on the side of the oncoming traffic. Crossing Marking Element 921 is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 921a "Intermittent Line with Short Dashes", the length of dashes of which is 1 m, and the length of gaps between dashes is 2 m, indicates the edge of the roadway. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 922 "Intermittent Line with Long Dashes", the length of dashes of which is three times greater than the length of gaps between dashes:
Marking Element 922 "Intermittent Line with Long Dashes" 1) indicates approaching marking element 911 "Single Solid Line";
Marking Element 922 "Intermittent Line with Long Dashes" 1) indicates approaching marking element 913 "Double Solid Line";
Marking Element 922 "Intermittent Line with Long Dashes" 1) indicates approaching marking element 914 "Combination of Solid and Broken Lines" dividing traffic flows in opposite directions or lanes on the side of the oncoming traffic;
Marking Element 922 "Intermittent Line with Long Dashes" 2) separates traffic flows in opposite directions at a dangerous road location with two lanes, as well as approaches to such a location. Marking Element 923a "Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps", the length of dashes and gaps between dashes of which is 0.5 m. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 923a indicates traffic lanes at intersections or at points of intersection with access roads from adjacent territories where it is necessary to clearly define the direction of movement. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 923a can designate a pedestrian crossing. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 923b "Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps", the length of dashes and gaps between dashes of which is 1 m, and the width of dashes is 10 cm:
Marking Element 923b "Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps" 1) indicates the break in line 911 "Single Solid Line" indicating the edge of the roadway, at intersections or places where the road exits;
Marking Element 923b "Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps" 2) indicates the edge of the roadway on roads where the maximum allowable speed is 50 km/h or less. Crossing Marking Element 923b is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 923c "Wide Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps", the length of dashes and gaps between dashes of which is 1 m, and the width of dashes is 20 cm:
1) Marking Element 923c "Wide Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps" indicates the break in line 912 "Wide Solid Line" indicating the edge of the roadway, at intersections or places where the road exits;
2) Marking Element 923c "Wide Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps" indicates the beginning and end of the lane for general-purpose vehicles and the lane for general-purpose vehicles and bicycles. Crossing Marking Element 923c is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 923d "Intermittent Line with Equal Dashes and Gaps", the length of dashes and gaps between dashes of which is 3 m.
Marking Element 923d separates the special-purpose lane (bicycle lane, lane for general-purpose vehicles, lane for general-purpose vehicles and bicycles) from the main lanes of the roadway. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 924 "Wide Intermittent Line", the length of dashes of which is 1 m, and the length of gaps between dashes is 3 m.
Marking Element 924 "Wide Intermittent Line" separates the deceleration lane and acceleration lane from the main lanes of the roadway. Crossing the line is allowed from both sides.
Marking Element 925 "Double Intermittent Line" separates the reversible traffic lane from the adjacent traffic lane.
Marking Element 925 "Double Intermittent Line" separates the reversible traffic lane from the adjacent traffic lane.
Marking Element 931 "Line Prohibiting Parking" indicates a place where parking and stopping of vehicles are prohibited. The line is yellow and is applied at the edge of the roadway or along the curb edge.
Marking Element 932 "Line Prohibiting Stopping", the length of dashes and gaps between dashes of which is 1 m, indicates a place where stopping of vehicles is prohibited. The line is yellow and is applied at the edge of the roadway or along the curb edge.
Marking Element 933 "Stopping of Public Transport Vehicles" indicates bus, trolleybus, and taxi stops providing public transport services. The line is yellow. Parking of vehicles is prohibited on the line if it obstructs the movement of category "D" public transport vehicles or taxis.
Marking Element 934 "No Parking Zone" indicates areas where prohibited parking zones should be additionally marked, for example, areas where a parked vehicle obstructs the movement of other vehicles or creates obstacles for pedestrians (road sections in front of gates to courtyards, between parking spaces, loading and unloading areas, etc.). The line is yellow. Parking of vehicles is prohibited on the marking.
Marking Element 935 "Dangerous Pedestrian Zone" indicated by sign 542a "Bus or Trolleybus Stop" or sign 541b "Tram Stop" designates the boundary area of the stop where it is safe to wait for arriving public transport vehicles.
Marking Element 941 "Stop Line" indicates the place where the driver must stop the vehicle in case of a red traffic light signal or at the command of a traffic controller, when the barrier is closed at a railway crossing, or in the presence of sign 222 "Stop and Give Way".

Marking Element 942 inscription "Stop" warns of approaching Marking Element 941, which is used in conjunction with sign 222 "Stop and Give Way".
Marking Element 943 "Give Way Zone" indicates the place where the driver must stop, if necessary, giving way to a vehicle moving on a road where the right of way is provided, or on a main road. Used in conjunction with sign 221 "Give Way".

Marking Element 943a "Give Way Zone" indicates the place where the driver must, if necessary, stop on the deceleration lane, at an intersection of equal roads, before signs 231 "Priority of Oncoming Traffic" and 555 "Waiting Area", before an unregulated pedestrian crossing or before a railway crossing without a barrier.
Marking Element 944 "Warning of Approaching Give Way Zone" warns of approaching Marking Element 943 "Give Way Zone", which is used in conjunction with sign 221 "Give Way".
Marking Element 945a "Pedestrian Crossing" indicates an unregulated pedestrian crossing or a regulated pedestrian crossing where the traffic light is not used round the clock.
Marking Element 945b "Pedestrian Crossing" indicates an unregulated pedestrian crossing or a regulated pedestrian crossing where the traffic light is not used round the clock. The arrows of marking 945b indicate the direction of pedestrian movement.
Marking Element 946a "Intersection with Bicycle-Pedestrian Path" indicates the intersection with a bicycle-pedestrian path marked by sign 435 "Bicycle-Pedestrian Path".
Marking Element 946b "Intersection with Bicycle-Pedestrian Path" indicates the intersection with a bicycle-pedestrian path marked by sign 435 "Bicycle-Pedestrian Path".
Marking Element 946c "Intersection with Bicycle-Pedestrian Path" indicates the intersection with a bicycle-pedestrian path marked by sign 435 "Bicycle-Pedestrian Path".
Marking Element 946d "Intersection with Bicycle-Pedestrian Path" indicates the intersection with a bicycle-pedestrian path marked by sign 433 or 434 "Bicycle-Pedestrian Path".
Marking Element 947 "Pedestrian Crossing with Traffic Light" indicates a regulated pedestrian crossing or a regulated intersection with a bicycle-pedestrian path. The marking may also indicate a regulated pedestrian crossing or a regulated intersection with a bicycle-pedestrian path where the traffic light is not used round the clock.
Marking Element 948 "Intersection with Bicycle Path" indicates the place where the bicycle path or lane intersects the roadway.
Marking Element 949a "Parking Zone" indicates the boundaries of the parking zone marked by sign 387 "Parking Zone". The marking has a blue color.
Marking Element 949b "Speed Limit Zone" indicates the boundaries of the speed limit zone marked by sign 382 "Speed Limit Zone". The marking has a red color.
Marking Element 949c "Residential Zone" indicates the boundaries of the residential zone marked by sign 573 "Residential Zone". The marking has a red color.
Marking Element 949d "Intersection Zone" indicates the zone of intersection of roadways or the zone of intersection of certain traffic lanes in the zone of intersection of roadways.

Marking Element 949g "Intermediate Distance" signifies, under good weather and road conditions, vehicles moving uniformly behind one another. The minimum requirement of the intermediate distance is met if the driver behind sees at least two road markings ahead of the vehicle in front.
Marking Element 951 "Direction Arrow" indicates the direction of movement in the lane.

Marking Element 958a "Direction Arrow" with two arrows indicates the locations of two consecutive turns.
Marking Element 958b "Direction Arrow" with two arrows indicates the locations of two consecutive turns. The marking arrow indicating a left turn from the far left lane also permits a U-turn.
Marking Element 959 "Direction Arrow" indicates the direction of movement in the lane.
Marking Element 961 "Curved Arrow" denotes the end of a traffic lane or an acceleration lane, or the end of a road section where passing is allowed, and indicates the direction for changing lanes or returning to the side of oncoming traffic. Marking Element 961a or 962a may have the form of an arrow terminating a traffic lane or an acceleration lane, respectively, instead of Marking Element 961 or 962.
Marking Element 963 "Direction Arrow" indicates the direction of movement for road users on a bicycle and pedestrian path.
Marking Element 971a "Intersection of Equal Roads" indicates an intersection of equal roads.
Marking Element 971b "Warning of Approaching Road Intersection" informs about the approach to Marking Elements 945 "Pedestrian Crossing", 946 "Intersection with Bicycle and Pedestrian Path", or 948 "Intersection with Bicycle Path" or to a pedestrian crossing.
Marking Element 972 "Road Number" indicates the road number. The letter "E" denotes a road of the European road network.
Marking Element 973 "Lane for General-Purpose Vehicles" denotes a lane for general-purpose vehicles marked by Sign 525a "Lane for General-Purpose Vehicles", a lane for general-purpose vehicles and bicycles marked by Sign 525b "Lane for General-Purpose Vehicles and Bicycles", or a widening of the road at a public transportation stop.
Marking Element 974 "Pedestrian Path" indicates a pedestrian path marked by Sign 432 "Pedestrian Path" and a bicycle and pedestrian path or its part marked by Sign 433, 434, or 435 "Bicycle and Pedestrian Path".
Marking Element 975 "Bicycle Path": 1) indicates a bicycle path marked by Sign 431 "Bicycle Path" and a bicycle and pedestrian path or its part marked by Sign 433, 434, or 435 "Bicycle and Pedestrian Path"; 2) indicates a bicycle lane on the roadway.
Marking Element 976a "Parking Space for Disabled Persons' Vehicles" denotes a parking space that can only be used for parking a vehicle with a parking card for a vehicle serving a person with disabilities or a blind person. Marking elements may be applied on a blue background.
Marking Element 976b "Electric Vehicle Parking Space" denotes a parking space that can only be used by a full electric vehicle.
Marking Element 977 "Incline Ramp" denotes an artificial elevation constructed on the roadway to reduce the speed of movement, or an inclined surface located on the roadway at an elevated intersection or at a crossing with access roads from adjacent territories.
Marking Element 978 "Maximum Speed" indicates the maximum permitted speed (km/h) on a road section.
Marking Element 979a "Ratchet" denotes a road section where special attention (including in the choice of driving speed) should be paid.
Marking Element 979b "Ratchet" denotes the beginning of a road section under repair. Marking Element 979b is yellow.
Marking Element 981a "Reflective Coating" is intended for highlighting elements of horizontal marking separating traffic flows in opposite directions or lanes on the side of oncoming traffic, during dark hours and in conditions of insufficient visibility. Marking Element 981a consists of two built-in white reflectors in the road surface.
Marking Element 981b "Reflective Coating" is intended for highlighting elements of horizontal marking separating traffic flows or lanes on the side of oncoming traffic, during dark hours and in conditions of insufficient visibility. Marking Element 981b is a single white reflector built into the road surface.
