Requirements for Traffic Lights.
Section 1. Article 28. Definition of a Traffic Light and Traffic Light Groups.
General Requirements.
(1) A traffic light is an electrical device used on the road to regulate traffic using light signals.
(2) Traffic lights are divided into the following groups:
1) Traffic lights with round signals;
2) Traffic lights with arrows;
3) Traffic lights with an additional section;
4) Traffic lights with a flashing yellow beacon;
5) Public transport traffic lights;
6) Traffic lights;
7) Railway crossing traffic lights;
8) Bicycle traffic lights;
9) Pedestrian traffic lights.
(3) The first digit of the traffic light indicates the group of traffic lights, the second with or without a letter after the digit indicates the order within the group. If a common identifier for all traffic lights in the group is mentioned, the second digit and letter are omitted.
(4) Traffic lights 83, 92, and 93 may use an audible signal for pedestrians with impaired vision, intermittent sound corresponds to red or yellow, continuous to green.
(5) Traffic lights 1, 2, 8, and 9 may use an indicator that shows how many seconds are left before the light changes.

Traffic Light with Round Signals 1 Traffic lights with round signals 11 and 12 have the following sequence of signal activation: 1) green - flashing green (may be absent) - yellow - red - red and yellow simultaneously - green. A green signal may appear after a flashing green or yellow signal; 2) only flashing yellow signal.

(1) On traffic lights with additional sections, a contour of a black arrow may be applied to the main green signal, indicating permitted directions of movement when this light is on. (2) The sequence of traffic light activation is the same as for traffic lights 1. The green light in the additional section may flash before turning off.

Traffic lights for general public transport vehicles have the following sequence of signal activation: signal in the form of a vertical line - flashing signal in the form of a vertical line (may be absent) - signal in the form of a horizontal line - signal with the letter "S" - simultaneous activation of the signal with the letter "S" and the signal in the form of a horizontal line - signal in the form of a vertical line.

Traffic lights for general public transport vehicles have the following sequence of signal activation: signal in the form of a vertical line - flashing signal in the form of a vertical line (may be absent) - signal in the form of a horizontal line - signal with the letter "S" - simultaneous activation of the signal with the letter "S" and the signal in the form of a horizontal line - signal in the form of a vertical line.
Article 34. Reversible traffic lights 6. On traffic light 61, the signals are activated in the following sequence: green (may flash before turning off) - red (may flash before turning off) - green. On traffic light 62, the lights are activated as follows: green - green with yellow (both signals may flash) - yellow - red (may flash before turning off) - green.

(3) In the case of traffic lights 72 and 73 with three signals used at railway crossings, the red light flashes alternately (the white light is off) or only the white light is on (the red light is off).

Article 36. Bicycle traffic light 81 and bicycle-pedestrian traffic lights 82 and 83 The sequence of traffic light activation is the same as for traffic lights 1.
